EC Markets / MetaTrader 4 / Field guide

EC Markets MT4. The focused trading desk.

A practical look at MetaTrader 4, its core tools, account login and the checks that make a workflow repeatable.

A focused platform, by the numbers.

The strongest reason to use MT4 is often continuity: familiar charts, an established workspace or a tool already written for the terminal. Keep a record of your setup before changing computers or reinstalling the software.

Keep the chart readable. A few indicators with distinct purposes are easier to interpret than several tools repeating the same input. Save a clean template with the symbol, timeframe and risk controls visible.

A familiar interface is useful. A repeatable process is more useful.EC Trade / Workflow note

Keep MQL4 and MQL5 separate.

An MT4 Expert Advisor belongs to the MQL4 environment. Moving to MT5 is a migration project, not a filename change. Test logic, order handling and assumptions again before running a converted strategy.

Backtests are hypothetical. Price history, spreads, execution assumptions and parameter selection affect results. A smooth curve is not proof of future performance.

A stop order is an instruction, not a guaranteed execution price. Gaps can affect fills.

If a login fails, first check the account number, server, platform and trading password. The portal login and terminal login serve different purposes.
